THE PATRON OF THE SCHOOL

ARNOLD JANSSEN (1837-1909, Goch. Germany) was a great educationist and philanthropist. A man of prayer and service. He started three Religious Congregations to bring light and knowledge to the world through love and service. He was an excellent and an inspiring Mathematics teacher. His aim as a teacher was to train the young minds in knowledge and truth. His affectionate approach to each student won the esteem of all. Today the Society/organization has spread in 84 different countries. In the state Odisha the Organization has 7 English Medium schools, 2 Odia Medium and 1 Hindi Medium in Jharkhand State.

COURSES OF STUDIES AND CO-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES.

The course of studies is based on the requirement of the Central Board of Secondary Education – CBSE as the school is on the process of affiliation to CBSE, special attention will be paid throughout on the fundamental virtues of intellect as concentration, accuracy, clarity, thoroughness, and the essential moral qualities of reverence for God, responsibility, co-operation and generosity. Along with English language the national and regional languages have a vital role in the curriculum. The intellectual education of St. Arnold School will be liberal and universal, but at the same time it will be Indian and firmly rooted in the Indian history and tradition. The curriculum will therefore embrace English, Hindi, Odia, SST, Science, Mathematics, Computer, and Drawing. The additional subjects of prime importance are GK, Moral Science, Dance and Music, Conversation, Voice production and Yoga –Karate.

The school offers wide range of co-curricular activities including a variety of Indoor and outdoor games, cultural and quasi-academic activities. Every student is encouraged to participate in these activities to discover and, to develop one’s talents and to blossom as mature persons.

THE HOUSE SYSTEM

The whole school (both staff and students) will be divided in Four Houses. Various types of inter-house activities will be conducted throughout the year and students are encouraged to participate actively in these events.
